    厦门市副市长张灿民在动工仪式上致辞时表示,海沧海底隧道是厦门“十二五”规划和海西经济区高速公路网规划中的重要通道,其建设将进一步完善厦门城市路网结构,极大缓解海沧进出本岛交通压力,对拓展厦门城市发展空间,实现岛内外一体化和加速厦门、漳州、泉州同城化都具有重要意义。
