    刚刚完成的2011～2012年度（截至今年上半年）黄河水量调度期间水质监测结果显示，与2010～2011调水年度相比，河南境内黄河干支流水质有所好转。而近年来的水质分析也表明，河南境内黄河干流水质好转趋势较为明显。

    据黄河流域水环境监测中心监测，2011年河南境内黄河干流及主要支流Ⅰ～Ⅲ类水河长约占55.6%，与2005年相比，上升了26.5个百分点，劣Ⅴ类水河长占13.9%，比2005年下降了27.4个百分点。其中，干流水质好于支流，2011年河南省境内黄河干流Ⅰ～Ⅲ类水河长占69.0%。目前我国的地表水共分五类，Ⅰ类最好，低于Ⅴ类的为劣Ⅴ类水。其中Ⅰ～Ⅲ类水可作为饮用水的水源地，Ⅵ、Ⅴ类适用于工农业用水。

    据了解，黄河中下游水体较浑浊，这和水质好坏是两个概念，浑浊代表水体泥沙含量较高，并不反映污染因子浓度水平。
