田北俊18日在香港除夕烟火汇演发布会后对记者表示，香港整体经济与世界经济有几个范畴都在走下坡，都希望借着旅游业带来经济增长。他指出，虽然游客对市民的日常生活带来一些不便，但其附加的经济效应更大，令普罗市民都能受惠，亦令香港失业率创下历史最低，“港人要平衡其中利弊”。

　　他认为，就算香港人去各地游玩也会对当地人造成不便，因此他希望，游客能入乡随俗，尊重香港的文化，而港人也应尽地主之谊，向游客介绍香港的文化，而不应喝骂游客。

He thinks,Even if Hong Kong people around to visit to the local people will cause inconvenience,So he wants to,Visitors can do as the Romans do,Respect the culture of Hong Kong,And Hong Kong people should also do the honours of,Visitors to Hong Kong's culture,And should not drink scold tourists.

　　对于特首梁振英17日在立法会上表示香港不应“闭关锁港”，田北俊表示赞同：“香港是有色彩及国际化的大城市，应该希望游客能多来。”
