记者从重庆高速集团了解到，目前南万(南川至万盛)高速公路土建工程半数已完工，预计年底建成通车。届时，沿途金佛山、仙女山、黑山谷将打造环线游，为市民提供新的旅游通道。

　　重庆高速集团建设管理中心总工程师柯愈明告诉记者，南万高速建设的难点，就是要克服万盛特大桥至丛林隧道之间悬崖危岸路段的施工风险。万盛特大桥至丛林隧道路段与悬崖绝壁并行，其中青山隧道侧向7米即悬崖。同时，受自然条件制约，南万高速与既有铁路、省道、地方路、高压线乃至河道等共聚一个走廊带，整个项目施工安全风险高，施工技术难度大，工程艰巨，被专家称为钢丝绳上的攻坚战。
