西海大峡谷是很多游客“又爱又恨”的去处。“爱”是因为这里是黄山景区最美最险的景观，“恨”是因为这里海拔高、上下程要走5个小时。记者获悉，随着西海地轨缆车4月底开通，游客最少5分钟就能看完风景。

　　据悉，西海大峡谷2005年对外开放，很快以险绝陡峭、原始生态浓郁等优势被誉为“梦幻景区”。然而，该景区海拔高，峡谷纵深大，上下走完全程需5个小时，体力消耗极大，游客数增长有限。

　　2009年底，西海大峡谷地轨缆车项目启动建设，经过2年多施工，该项目建成。据介绍，该缆车上站位于西海景区的石床峰，下站位于峡谷底，缆车运行长度892米，最高运行速度每秒8米。原来游客步行数小时的山路，单趟最少只需5分钟就能跑完。该缆车计划4月底投入运行，游客可乘缆车在山林、峡谷间穿越而行，看够美丽风景。西海大峡谷也有望实现分流游客的预期。 (记者吴永泉)
