英国边境管理局亚太区主任西蒙·皮奇近期来访中国时宣布，新的英国访问签证费用标准降低为80英镑，该签证有效期为6个月且可多次入境英国。相比而言，申根签证只可单次入境且有效期为3个月，新政策将从今年4月起生效。
