　　孙新华介绍称，当前中国艾滋病疫情呈现以下几个特点：一是经性途径已成为主要的传播途径，男男同性性传播比例上升明显。今年1-10月新报告的艾滋病病毒感染者中经性途径传播所占比例为84.9%(去年同期为77.9%)，其中男男同性性传播所占比例为21.1%(去年同期为15%)。2012年哨点监测发现，男男同性性行为人群艾滋病病毒感染率为6.7%。二是局部地区和特定人群疫情严重。全国累计报告感染者和病人数超过1000的县(区)有93个，超过5000的县(区)有5个。疫情严重的9个省(区)累计报告感染者和病人数占全国的79.9%。15—24岁青少年和50岁以上老年人感染数逐年上升，仅2012年1—10月就分别报告9514例和16131例，较去年同期分别增加12.8%和20.2%。三是感染者陆续进入发病期，艾滋病死亡人数增加。2012年1—10月，报告的艾滋病病人数为34157例，较去年同期增加12.7%，艾滋病死亡人数为17740例，较去年同期增加8.6%。
