一则美国试验项目曾让湖南儿童食用转基因大米的消息，引发了“黄金大米”风波。对于儿童们是否食用过黄金大米，相关部门还在调查，尚未有结论。调查发现，相关部门在湖南衡阳进行过一个课题试验，该试验进行现场又合并进行了美国塔夫茨大学的一个试验项目。正是后者涉嫌使用了黄金大米。塔夫茨大学主导的试验曾明确提到会使用黄金大米，该项目未在我国相关主管部门报批备案，但2003年底在浙江医学科学院伦理委员会通过了审查。2003年通过审查的项目为何能够在2008年异地实施？又如何能够与国家课题组项目合并进行？事件中，我国对涉及人体试验领域伦理审查不严、监管不力的问题凸显。
