中新网广州11月29日电(王华 黄治才 吴剑鹏)广东、广西是地中海贫血病的重灾区，根据南方医科大学课题组进行的流行病学调查显示，这两个省份人群的地贫基因携带率分别为11%和25%。南方医院今日公布，该院研究团队一篇临床论著刊登在国际顶级血液学期刊《Blood》杂志，文章提出的地贫治疗新方案获得广泛认可，标志着中国在该领域临床研究已达国际领先水平。
