10月27日，厦门远海自动化码头（一期）项目合作框架协议签约仪式在北京人民大会堂举行，中远太平洋、上海振华重工、厦门海投三方代表在全自动化码头装卸系统合同上签字，全球首个第四代全自动化码头装卸系统将落户厦门。交通运输部副部长高宏峰出席签约仪式并讲话。

　　振华重工自主研发的全自动化码头装卸系统由中央控制室控制，将真正实现堆场无人全自动化。远海自动码头的装卸作业将完全置于轨道上用电驱动，比传统码头节省能源25%以上，碳排量减少16%以上。据测算，全自动化码头集装箱装卸系统的作业效率比目前世界集装箱码头平均装卸效率至少提高20%，比传统码头节省成本约26%，堆场利用率至少可以提高25%。该系统符合环保、高效、智能化、低成本等发展趋势，于2008年年底被列入科技部“863”高技术研究发展计划项目。
