　　邓海华指出，今年的1月27号是第60届世界防治麻风病日，卫生部联合多个部门已经印发了《关于开展世界防治麻风病日活动的通知》，今年的主题是“加速行动，消除麻风的危害”。1月25号卫生部将会同中国残联、中国红十字会总会赴浙江慰问麻风病患者和防治人员。

　　邓海华介绍，麻风病是一个古老的疾病，由麻风杆菌引起的慢性传染病，列为中国重点救治的疾病。新中国成立以后，全国共免费查治麻风病患者约50万人，麻风病的患病率从1958年的十万分之五点五六，下降到2012年的十万分之零点四二，麻风病的流行基本上得到了控制，总体处于低流行的水平。在防治工作方面，2011年9月份，卫生部等11个部门以及相关单位联合印发了《全国消除麻风病危害规划(2011-2020年)》。2012年5月份卫生部办公厅印发了《全国消除麻风病危害规划实施方案(2011-2020年)》，对麻风病防治工作提出了具体的目标和要求。
