《2006年海事劳工公约》将于明年生效，为此，8月28日，中国船东协会下发通知，提醒各相关航运企业积极研究该公约的有关要求，以人为本，不断改善船员工作和生活条件，签订船员就业协议，满足该公约要求。

　　今年8月13日，菲律宾参议院同意批准《2006年海事劳工公约》。此前，已经有29个国家将批准书在国际劳工组织备案。第30个国家批准之后就达到了公约生效规定的两个条件。因此该公约将于菲律宾批准书备案之日一年后即2013年生效。

　　公约生效后，将对我国船公司的船员管理运作、船员的福利待遇、船员的职业安全与健康，船员招募与安置以及船舶设计与建造等各方面将带来一系列重大影响。该公约规定，缔约国可对非缔约国到港船舶进行港口国检查。因此，即使没有批准该公约国家的船舶也会受到公约的制约与影响。中国船东协会提醒，各相关航运公司应研究公约的有关要求，以人为本，不断改善船员工作和生活条件，签订船员就业协议，满足公约要求。
