8月28日，广西海上搜救中心与越南海上搜救中心在防城港举行了海上应急通信联合演习，演习设置了险情报告、信息收集、搜救力量协调、医疗远程救助、信息通报等七个场景。

　　演习模拟越南籍“NHA·TRANG”轮在中国防城港搜救区域内机舱失火导致主机故障，23名船员遇险且其中3人严重烧伤并向广西海上搜救中心请求医疗和大马力拖轮救助的场景。广西海上搜救中心接警后，立即协调直升飞机和大马力拖轮前往救助，最终成功救助遇险船员和船舶。
