崔永元1981年考入北京广播学院新闻系。1985年毕业后进入中央人民广播电台任记者，客串中国中央电视台策划《东方时空》等节目，1996年以《实话实说》主持人身份崭露头角，大受欢迎。2003年7月，崔永元开始主持新节目《小崔说事》。2004年4月3日，崔永元积数年心血创制的新栏目《电影传奇》开播，内容涉及150部老电影，崔永元在节目中既是主持人，又是主要演员，既讲故事又演故事。2011年9月，“崔永元·新锐导演计划”在北京启动。目前，崔永元一直在进行着《谢天谢地，你来啦》、《小崔说立波秀》等节目的主持工作。
