日前，由中国科学报社、科学网等多家媒体共同主办的“2012中国科学年度新闻人物”评选已进入终评阶段，最终结果将于本月19日左右公布。之前，作家、赛车手韩寒和袁隆平、马云、雷军等科技界人士以及“打假斗士”方舟子共三十名候选人一起入围。韩寒被推荐的理由是：作家写科普遭网友围观。据悉，这里的科普主要指韩寒在2012年11月份主编的巨型科普书《它们》，该书因为体形庞大，价格昂贵，甫一推出就引发关注，更有人聚焦于“韩寒作为一个作家和赛车手是否有资格进行科学传播”进行各种评议和讨论。
