　　当天下午4时，记者在博罗县泰美医院看到，雨中，一辆救护车在忙着把病情较重的孩子转到博罗县人民医院医治，孩子们的手臂都扎着针在输液，家长在一边陪护。据学生家长说，当天中午12时多，孩子们在食堂吃饭后觉得不舒服，肚子痛，但直到下午2时学校仍未通知家长，家长都是听别人说后才赶去学校或者医院的。家长说，孩子们是吃了青菜后中毒的，多是四年级以上的学生。学生家长说，泰美小学原来是在镇上的，今年搬到坂田工业区，新校区交通不方便，学生只好住宿。家长说，该校有1000多人，这次约有400人中毒。据在医院接受治疗的学生说，当天的食物有南瓜、青菜等。有学生说还有土豆，土豆没剥皮，他们怀疑是土豆中毒。一位六年级的学生说，他觉得饭菜太难吃，因而只吃了一口就倒掉，结果没事，他到医院是为了陪同学的。
