　　7月31日，“@武汉大学金融研究院”的ID发布了一条微博，该微博援引今年6月22日一篇名为《“国际学术期刊”大师和“国际学术会议”大师周怀北》的博客，直斥周怀北为“江湖骗子”。这位此前曾主动放弃百万年薪而受到赞誉的明星学者，此次遭到质疑的焦点所在正是武汉海讯科技会务有限公司和美国科研出版社。

　　两家网站的注册信息上均出现了周怀北的身影：汉斯出版社的注册人为“huaibei zhou”，而注册组织一栏上显示的正是“武汉海讯科技会务有限公司”的拼音，其中注册电话亦与周怀北公开资料显示的手机号码一致。美国科研出版社的注册信息则可查询到两个版本，第一个版本的最后更新时间为2008年8月8日，其显示的注册人虽不是周怀北，但注册组织一栏却是“武汉大学高科技研究与发展”的拼音，而记者查询发现周怀北的另一个头衔，正是武汉大学高科技研究与发展中心主任；第二个版本更新于2012年4月23日，在这里注册人又变为了“zhou huaibei”。
