　　在北碚区煤安厂164号的一栋老楼里，记者见到了陆大明。他中等个子略有些发福，头发乌黑却稍显凌乱。这个煤矿工人的家，摆满了各式的铜线画、根雕成品，桌上还有一幅正在绘制中的铜线画。

　　虽然逃过矿难，但这事却深深地刺激了他，“当时，我就一个初中文凭，想要上井工作，又没文化。”于是，陆大明开始自学大学汉语言文学。

　　作为一名煤矿矿工，陆大明能在根雕艺术界取得一席之地，这已经让众多工友感到意外和敬佩，但这个矿工的传奇还没完。

　　2000年的某一天，陆大明因工作时扭伤了脚，在家休息、看电视。当时，他正好看到电视里在讲解铜线画这一古老传统工艺面临失传危机的消息。
