据介绍，此次活动面向全国中小学在校学生，按照学段小学组和中学组分设硬笔、毛笔两个组别，活动属于纯公益性质，不向学校、学生收取任何费用。著名书法教育家欧阳中石担任组委会名誉主任，中国书法家协会青少年委员会、中国硬笔书法协会、中国教育学会书法教育专业委员会等机构的专家担任评委。
