　　今天是高管会的最后一天，我作为总裁办秘书一直在负责会议安排。这次的会议很特殊，会上向高管们通报了新东方筹备上市的进程，不知道是因为高兴、兴奋还是不安，那天很多人喝醉了，好多人裸衣起舞，好多人嘶声高歌。老俞醉得不轻，回酒店的路上一下子跳进了路边的一个水池子里，把我们吓坏了，尽管水不深，但9月底的水已经有点凉了，我们赶紧把他扶了出来。回到酒店，老俞躺在床上嚎啕大哭：“太累了，我不想上市了……”王强在旁边拉着他的手说：“老俞，不想上咱就不上了……”那一刻，他们都像个孩子。后来很多人不理解、不相信老俞说的“不想上市”，可我知道，为了上市，他确实很累很苦，而且还要很累很苦很多年，所以，我相信他说的是实话。

　　2012年的最后一天，我在从唐山回北京过元旦的动车上。这趟动车我已经坐了无数个来回，火车票都可以塞满抽屉了，尽管只是一个小时的车程，但却觉得非常遥远。我从不觉得炫耀自己以校为家、周末假期舍弃家人巡视学校是什么光荣的事情，家庭和事业对于我来说同样重要。因为在外地工作的原因，我不得不把家庭中更多的责任交给妻子、父母来分担，对此我无比愧疚。老实说，刚离开家时，还有一种天高任鸟飞的解脱感，终于可以不用带孩子、做家务了，可当每天忙完学校的工作回到租住的屋子里时，面对冷冰冰的空房子，心里说不出的难受；以致后来每次回到北京自己的家里，觉得洗衣做饭、刷锅洗碗成了无比的幸福。
