2013年5月9日，以“生态文明与绿色发展”为主题的首届京师绿色发展论坛在北京师范大学召开。论坛由中国绿色发展协同创新中心主办。中国科学院刘昌明院士、中国工程院曲久辉院士、北京师范大学刘川生书记、董奇校长出席了论坛。教育部、环境保护部、中国神华集团、中国水务集团（香港）、中国电力工程顾问集团、中国节能环保集团、环境保护部环境工程评估中心、清华大学、联合国环境规划署、中国-东盟环境保护合作中心，以及北京师范大学等单位的知名专家学者与会并围绕生态文明建设、绿色转型、绿色发展指数等主题进行了探讨。“京师绿色发展论坛”今后将每年举办，努力办成以绿色发展为核心主题的国际知名论坛。
