10月24日，以“关注民生、携手安全、共赢发展”为主题的琼州海峡水上交通安全座谈会暨琼州海峡客滚安全运输联席会议在广东湛江召开。交通运输部副部长徐祖远出席会议并强调，琼州海峡两岸相关部门要合力推进琼州海峡水上交通科学发展、安全发展，到“十二五”末，将琼州海峡建成“平安、畅通、舒适、有序”的示范运输通道。
