  7月1日,新化县吉庆镇中心小学六(1)班61名同学来到班主任刘迎军老师处领取通知书时,都得到了一份珍贵的礼物——刘老师为他们撰写的《行走在希望的征途上》的成长故事书。

  现年26岁的刘迎军毕业于吉首大学数学系,2010年9月通过特岗教师招聘来到吉庆镇中心小学教书。由于他工作任劳任怨,教学效果好,一年后便升任学校教导主任,同时担任毕业班班主任。

  “对,就写他们!”刘老师连夜打开电脑,思绪翻腾,文如泉涌,他很快写完了第一篇:《康乐怡与我的成长故事》,文章2000字,开头配上康乐怡的照片和她的理想、爱好等方面的简介,结尾附上师生交往的信件以及老师对学生的毕业祝福。

  以此开端,刘迎军按着“学生简介”、“师生成长故事”、“最后是祝愿”等基本写作思路,花了整整1年的业余时间,前后改稿3次,终于写完了全班61名学生的61篇成长故事,共计10万字。书中拍摄、穿插了89张学生单照或校园活动照,书名为《行走在希望的征途上——我与吉庆镇中心小学2012届毕业生的成长故事》。
