旨在资助外籍优秀学生和青年学者进入中国一流大学学习人文学科和社会科学的“新汉学计划”，由中国国家汉语国际推广领导小组办公室倡导设立，资助对象为来华攻读博士学位的研究生、联合培养的博士研究生、合作进行课题研究的博士生及为期3个月至1年的青年访问学者。研修专业领域有人文科学类和社会科学类，主要涉及中国传统文化和当代中国研究，研修课目包含中国语言与文学、历史、哲学、经济学、法学、政治学、社会学等。每位成功申请者可获得每年17至19万人民币的经费资助。

　　据南开大学副校长朱光磊介绍，该校计划今年9月开始面向全球招收研修汉学博士，10月底确定招生规模和人选，并于2013年2月28日前通知申请者评审结果，评审合格者将于2013年春季或秋季来华就读。目前，学校已甄选首批82位资深博导参与该项培养计划。
