据香港文汇报报道，香港新学年已开始，莘莘学子亦已购买教科书上学。香港消委会调查发现，不同学校的购书费差距甚大，小学一年级的购书费最低仅509元(港币，下同)，但最贵却高达3089元，两者相差达506%。调查又发现，采用电子书的班别的购书费，较去年减少约一半，消委会希望未来会有更多学校采用电子书，以减轻家长负担。

　　消委会宣传及小区关系小组副主席梁光汉表示，不同学校的购书费相差甚远原因，是因为不同学校需购买的教科书数量不同，如最低购书费的小学只需学生购买中国语文、英国语文、数学及常识4科用书，但最高购书费学校则需为另外5科购书，包括电脑、生命教育、音乐、普通话及宗教科，亦要求学生购买多本补充练习。
