　　12月8日，国际数学展“IMAGINARY数学畅想巡回展”在西交利物浦大学举办。本次展览由德国奥博沃尔法赫数学研究所主办，首次在中国展出。IMAGINARY是一个非商业互动巡回展览，已经在德国、美国、英国、法国等国家的40多个城市举行，迄今为止全球已有累计超过37万人参观。

　　巡回展于12月8日上午10点举行开幕式，邀请中科院院士林群教授出席开幕式，并有来自上海交通大学、同济大学、苏州大学、北京工业大学等高校老师出席活动。本次IMAGINARY展览主要发起人、西交利物浦大学数理中心主任刘刚博士表示：“一直以来，数学给人们留下的都是非常精确、严密的刻板印象。我们举办这样的一个展览，就是希望颠覆以往的这种枯燥乏味的形象。我们想通过IMAGINARY展览告诉大家，数学也可以直观化、形象化、趣味化。我们希望通过这样一个色彩斑斓、生动有趣的互动世界激发起大家学习数学的热情。”
