2012年12月2日至3日，为期两天的第九届"国际儒学论坛·2012"国际学术研讨会在中国人民大学国学馆隆重召开。本届论坛的主题是："儒学与生态文明"。来自中国、韩国、日本、美国、加拿大、澳门、巴西、马来西亚、新加坡、香港、台湾等十多个国家和地区的一百多名学者齐聚一堂，返古知今，共同围绕儒学与生态文明的话题展开了深入的探讨。本次会议共收到学者论文99篇。

　　在开幕式致辞中，陈雨露校长首先回顾了自孔子研究院成立以来所取得的诸项研究成果和推广的各项活动，同时感谢了各界对于孔子研究院的鼎立支持。陈校长指出，本次国际儒学论坛的组委会在中国共产党的十八大召开之前就确定了以"儒学与生态文明"作为探讨的主题，体现了学者们积极把握时代脉络，时刻体察当代社会对学者所提出的最新要求，及时地发出对于时代要求的回应。体现出了各位专家学者对于现实强烈的人文关怀。此外，为实现科技的可持续发展，教育界和思想界应为其提供强大的理论支持。在儒家的思想文化中，要求人类尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然的思想数不胜数。深入研究中国传统文化，特别是深入挖掘儒家思想中生态方面的智慧，对当代中国，乃至对全人类积极建设生态文明、实现科学发展具有重要的意义。最后展望，希望学者们在此次会议上深入挖掘中国传统思想，特别是儒家思想中丰富的生态思想智慧，由此为实现中华民族的可持续发展做出更大的贡献。最后，陈校长祝愿本次会议取得更加丰硕的成果，祝愿与会学者们身体健康，一切如意。
