这已经是杨玉良任复旦大学校长以来第三次参加奖学金颁奖典礼，在今年的颁奖典礼上，杨玉良对获奖学生谈起了如何看待专业的问题。

　　杨玉良说，不同的专业似乎在不同的历史阶段都会有它的冷和热，但是他认为，冷和热并不代表专业的重要与否，“不要以为冷的学科就是不重要的学科，不要以为热的学科就一定是重要的学科”。

　　现在包括复旦大学在内的一些高校分大类招生，每一个新的同学入学一年以后要去选择一个专业，有人认为选专业似乎就是第二次高考，因为这将决定自己后面的人生道路。而杨玉良则认为，从什么出发点去选择专业，对大学生来讲至关重要，“你可以受社会的影响去选择专业，也可以从国家的需求出发来选择专业，也可以根据你的兴趣爱好来选择专业，但是哪个占主要地位？这个是非常重要的。”

　　杨玉良认为，大学生对一门学科认识得越深，就越会体会到这个学科在未来的社会，包括个人发展当中的重要性，“比如说经济管理比较热，设想大家都去选经济管理（专业），这样行不行？显然不行。因为我们国家必须有人去做工程技术的研究，有人要去做科学的研究，我们有实体性的经济，有实体性的企业，也有金融类或者其他类的企业。一个合理的社会架构，各种事情都需要人来做，而且我们希望每一个人在自己的工作岗位上，在自己的工作领域里面都能够做到优秀。杨玉良说，如果在选择专业时仅仅考虑某一个学科出来会赚多少钱，或者某一个学科出来工作会比别人舒服，那么这种选择方式将是会有问题的，“如果你是本着这个意图去选择你的专业，我怀疑你未来是否会取得成功。”

　　杨玉良提到此前李开复举过的一个例子，哈佛大学商学院曾对来读商学院的学生做一个调研，看看他们到底是为了赚钱还是为了实现一种事业。10年以后，再对这些同学进行一个调查，结果发现100多位这样的学生都成了千万、亿万富翁，或者用世俗的观点来看，似乎他们都成功了。而回过头来看，这100多位学生只有几个人当时进学校的时候是为了赚钱、发财，而其他真正成功的人选择的都是为了事业和理想。

　　杨玉良觉得，这个例子说明的道理也很简单，“如果你有了理想，那么在工作生活当中碰到困难的时候，只要能让自己的内心休养生息，第二天仍然可以以精神焕发的面貌去面对生活和工作。如果你没有理想，那么碰到了挫折可能就一蹶不振了。”杨玉良告诫现场的大学生，对待专业问题，更多的是要回到内心，问问自己到底更适合学习哪个专业，而不是跟着社会潮流。（周凯）
