2011年8月，教育部发布《关于中小学开展书法教育的意见》，将书法教学作为基础教育的必修课程，要求中小学校通过有关课程和活动开展书法教育。不过从目前各地的实施现状来看，该意见的落实情况不容乐观。为此，必须引起足够重视，加快步伐，进一步加强基础教育阶段的书法教育工作。
