　　有这样一群孩子，因种种原因离开了父母的怀抱，失去了直系亲属照顾，人们叫他们“失依儿童”。为做好“失依儿童”关爱救助工作，湖南农业大学东方科技学院一群学子，从暑假一开始就在湖南平江伍市镇开展了专题调研和手牵手活动。

　　走进平江大山，大学生志愿者发现“失依儿童”居住地十分分散，志愿者们分成3个小组，下到不同的村子走访了12个孩子。一名志愿者说，“失依儿童”大多生活在社会福利的缺失处，只能依靠当地远低于孤儿补助金的低保金生活。生活的磨砺让这些孩子更早地懂事和成熟，不少年长的孩子既要承担家务，又要照顾弟妹。

　　通过接触和实际调查，志愿者们将募集的捐款给了最需要帮助的孩子。生活失助威胁的是儿童最基本的权利，而心理失衡威胁的则是儿童健全社会人格的养成。志愿者王雯哲哽咽地说：“我从没想到这些孩子这么可爱，却早早失去依靠，当我们还在天真地做着童话梦时，他们却不得不经受生活的残酷。”
