　　你们每个人都有自己擅长的东西，每个人都是有用之材，而发现自己的才能，就是你们要对自己担负的责任。学校绝不仅是传授知识，学校教育更重要的价值是给你们提供发现自己才能的机会。你是在阅读和写作的练习中才会发现自己的文学天赋；在一次次演讲或辩论课上才会发现自己的雄辩和不一般的逻辑思维能力，或许才有可能选择成为一名法官、律师；是在一次次物理化学的实验探究中，才可能成为一个发明家、创造者；是在和同学的交往或一次一次的社会实践中，学会倾听与沟通，在交流分享中，发现自己的组织才干、合作能力，但假如你不去投入这样的学习过程，你就很难发现自己的才能。

　　所以，不管你将来想要做什么，都需要相应的学习，尤其需要自我发现、自我教育。学校将围绕品格教育、公民教育、生命教育、生存教育，为学生提供更多的产品、资源和机会。你们要确立自己的目标，需要借助“学习”这一载体，学习知识、了解社会、学会与人相处、感悟成长。在这个过程中，每一个人都要主动发展自己的天赋、技能和才智，你们对自己的发现、教育和期待，将决定你们和我们整个国家在未来迎接重大挑战时的表现。
