益阳市一中通过一项“捡回珍珠计划”的慈善项目合作，从2010年起在高中阶段设立“双特生”(家庭特困、成绩特优)的“珍珠班”，对符合条件的学生免除学杂费，并提供每人每年2500元的生活补助。但这个慈善项目，却因为今年“珍珠班”的新生招录，引起了不小的风波。
