　　周剑轩的住所只是教室里用一个木板隔开的“单间”，顽皮的孩子甚至会在木板上戳两个洞，窥视从中国来的老师在做些什么。很多个夜晚，薄薄的一层毯子会让周剑轩即使穿上所有衣物后仍会冻醒，只能依靠做俯卧撑取暖。“每天的食物就是咖喱土豆饭，分量还特少。”周剑轩表示，他每日都在当地买一种饼给自己加餐。除了物质匮乏，与日俱增的思乡情绪更让他有些难过。“元旦和春节我都是在尼泊尔过的，”为此，他特意将手机闹钟铃声调为中国国歌，“每天早上听一遍人就舒服一点。”
