马英九指出，未来希望在3个领域努力：一、继续扩大、深化两岸交流；第二、两岸两会设立办事机构；第三、通盘检讨修正两岸人民关系条例。

　　马英九举例要努力的要点说，两岸经济协议（ECFA）后续的服务和货品贸易，不会再有第二次的早收条款，要扩大到ECFA的全部；这不仅对两岸重要，对于台湾要跟其它国家签署自由贸易协议也很重要。

　　在开放陆生来台方面，马英九说，陆生全修生不到2千人在台念大学或研究所，这部分之所以没办法扩大，是因为“三限六不”，要逐解除，尤其是对大陆学历的承认，将来除了“985”还要扩及“211”；此外，希望开放大陆专科生来台读二技学士学位，这部分正在跟大陆协商中。
