据越南《经济时报》1月8日报道，2013年越南大米出口将面临来自泰国、印度、巴基斯坦和缅甸的激烈竞争。这些国家都亟需解决本国粮食积压问题，特别是泰国，由于其政府提高粮食收购价，使出口价格上涨，出口下降，急于解决库存问题。目前，越南国内库存大米80万吨，加上2013年冬春季产量380万吨，一季度大米存量达460万吨，而目前尚无稳定的订单，出口压力较大。2013年越南拟出口大米至少750万吨，面临不少困难。
