2012年，巴基斯坦与中国的双边贸易首次突破120亿美元。就此，巴基斯坦中国研究所所长、参议员穆沙希德·侯赛因日前在接受本报记者采访时表示，“这一数据让我们有理由相信，巴中双边贸易关系正在进入快车道，两国双边贸易额将有望在今后三年内达到150亿美元”。
