据印尼媒体报道，11月20日，东盟10国和6个伙伴国中国、日本、韩国、印度、新西兰、澳大利亚领导人在柬埔寨金边达成共识，正式启动区域全面经济伙伴关系（RCEP）谈判，建设拥有30亿人口、15万亿美元GDP总额的全球最大贸易区。东盟也宣布了“美国-东盟扩大经济合作倡议”，旨在扩大与美国贸易投资联系，为加入跨太平洋伙伴关系协议（TPP）铺路。
