据报道，巴西外贸委员会9月4日召开会议，决定提高100种产品的进口关税，以鼓励其国内同类产品的生产，应对国际危机所带来的外贸竞争。

　　巴西财政部长曼特加表示，该国政府期待这项措施能够提高其国内相关产品的产量，使冶金、石油化工和轮胎等行业从中受益。

Brazilian finance minister guido mantega said,The government is looking forward to the measures to improve the domestic production of related products,The metallurgy/Petroleum chemical industry and tire industries benefit from it.

　　曼特加称，巴西政府会密切关注提高关税后国内市场进口产品的价格走势，如果这些产品价格上涨过多，巴西政府将相应调低进口关税，以防止提高进口关税给国内市场带来新的通货膨胀压力。

Mr Mantega said,The Brazilian government will pay close attention to imports of products after the tariff increases the domestic market price movements,If these products price rise too much,The Brazilian government will cut import duties accordingly,In order to prevent the raise import tariffs to bring new domestic market inflationary pressures.

　　巴西工业贸易发展部长皮门特尔否认采取贸易保护措施来扶持其本国企业，他强调：“我们是在世界贸易组织的规则之内行事，这些产品均属例外产品目录”。
