第九届亚欧首脑会议正在老挝首都万象举行。据新加坡《联合早报》11月6日报道，欧盟主席范龙佩在出席会议时称，他呼吁亚洲国家避免贸易保护主义，同时恳请亚洲国家协助振兴全球经济。

　　报道指出，欧盟领袖此番出席亚欧峰会的主要目的是向亚洲国家传达欧元区债务危机已受到控制的信息。范龙佩说：“欧元区的金融稳定比几个月前稳健了许多。欧元是一个不可逆转的项目，因此可以说，经济将在2013年恢复增长。”
