中国煤炭进口商协会（China Coal Importers Association）主席兼总裁Phil Ren周二表示，随着经济继续增长，中国煤炭进口量有望在三年内达到4亿至5亿吨。

　　Ren在新加坡举行的一次行业会议上表示，中国是一个对价格敏感的市场，尤其是在电煤方面。中国能够生产足够电煤满足国内需求，但如果进口能够带来更高的利润率，中国可能很快转向从海外购买煤炭。
