据海关信息网统计，2012年我国进口煤炭2.89亿吨，价值287亿美元，与去年同期相比（下同）分别增长29.8%和20.2%；进口平均价格为每吨99.5美元，下跌7.4%。

　　（一）12月份我国煤炭进口量创历史新高，进口价格探底回升。2012年12月我国进口煤炭3511万吨，同比增长31%，创我国煤单月进口量历史新高，当月我国煤炭进口平均价格为每吨88.2美元，同比下跌19.5%，环比上涨5.7%。

　　（二）一般贸易方式进口占主导地位。2012年，我国以一般贸易方式进口煤炭2.55亿吨，增长34.1%，占当年我国煤炭进口总量（下同）的88.1%，平均价格为每吨100.7美元，同比下跌7.2%；以其他贸易方式进口3385万吨，增长4.5%，占11.9%，平均价格为每吨90.7美元，下跌10.8%。

　　（三）主要自东盟、澳大利亚进口。2012年，我国自东盟进口煤炭1.39亿吨，增长9.9%，占48.3%，为我国煤炭进口最大货源地，平均价格为每吨78.6美元，下跌10.9%；自澳大利亚进口5946万吨，增长82.6%，占20.6%，平均价格为每吨130美元，下跌17.8%。自上述两市场进口煤炭量合计占我国煤炭进口总量的68.9%。

　　（五）广东、北京、山东、内蒙古和福建位居进口前5位。2012年，广东进口煤炭6765万吨，增长4.4%，占23.4%，平均价格为每吨85.6美元，下跌10.6%；北京进口5337万吨，增长68.3%，占18.5%，平均价格为每吨97.1美元，下跌9.7%；此外，山东进口2845万吨，增长56.6%；内蒙古进口2211万吨，增长1839%；福建进口2078万吨，增长23%。上述5省市进口合计占当年我国煤炭进口总量的66.7%。

　　（六）动力煤是主要进口品种。2012年，我国进口动力煤1.01亿吨，增长83.8%，占35%，平均价格为每吨103.7美元，下跌11.7%；进口褐煤5421万吨，增长35.1%，占18.8，平均价格为每吨62.9美元，下跌15.7%；进口炼焦煤5355万吨，增长20%，占18.6，平均价格为每吨142.7美元，下跌4.6%。上述3个品种合计占当年我国煤炭进口总量的72.4%。
